Will I be able to have my teeth cleaned the day of my first visit?
If you have been seeing another dentist regularly for examinations and cleanings, typically every three to six months, the answer is usually yes. A typical first visit may include dental x-rays, a cleaning by our hygienist, and an examination by Dr. Stasch. Follow-up treatment will be recommended as needed.
But if it has been several years since you last saw a dentist, your cleaning will likely be scheduled at a follow-up visit. We always will make every effort to schedule the appropriate type of cleaning right away.
At your first visit, we will take the time to gather information about your oral health and your overall health. We invite you to ask any questions you may have at that time. If you are feeling anxious about being at the dentist, please be sure to share that with us.
Dr. Stasch will conduct an examination of the current state of your teeth. If there are any signs of gum disease, we will discuss your treatment options with you at that time.
Rest assured that we will not chastise you or make any judgments. We are always happy to see patients make a good decision about getting their oral health on the right path.
