How long does it take to get a dental implant?

The procedure itself can be done in thirty minutes. In most cases, after a tooth is extracted, it takes three months for the socket to fill in with bone. Then the implant is placed. Three months is allowed for the bone to attach to the implant. At that point the crown can be placed on the implant. In some cases, an implant can be placed when the tooth is removed. Short answer, in a perfect world, three months - most often - 6 months.
